Temporary FREE parking is coming to downtown Nanai

Temporary FREE parking is coming to downtown Nanaimo October 1, 2024!

Nanaimo City Council and the Downtown Nanaimo Business Association (DNBA) are planning to offer free on-street parking in downtown Nanaimo to encourage more shoppers to visit while Commercial Street receives upgrades.

Free 2-hour parking will be limited to surface streets and does not include surrounding parkades or parking lots. The City is currently working to update signage and pay meters while providing direction to parking enforcement. The DNBA will ensure local businesses are aware of the change.

More details will be available in the coming weeks. Check out @cityofnanaimo Facebook page to keep up with other local news.
